Myles making strides! FA Cup debut for Kinetic graduate Kenlock as Portsmouth upset Ipswich Town in replay
By Tom BurtonMyles Kenlock made his FA Cup debut last night as his Ipswich Town side were edged out 2-1 by Portsmouth. The Kinetic graduate, pictured in orange, benefited from manager Mick McCarthy resting a number of first team regulars for the third-round replay. And the 19-year-old full-back, one of four starters aged under 20, clocked up 90 minutes at Fratton Park.A Gary Roberts penalty and a Marc McNulty header were enough for the upset and the Leaguer Two side now face Premier League Bournemouth. But Myles, who trained with Kinetic for a year including FA Youth Cup appearances, will now be looking to challenge for a regular place in McCarthy's first team as they look to cement their place in the Championship play-offs.Myles was part of the first intake of scholars at Woodcote High School where he completed his BTEC in Sport. He was soon picked up by The Tractor Boys and began training with the U21s, aged just 17.Myles made his competitive debut against Stevenage in August in the first round of the Capital One Cup and was on the bench at Old Trafford when Ipswich were beaten by Manchester United in round three.
