Game Preparation: Injury Prevention and Nutrition
Following our first pre-season game we were delighted to welcome Robert Laus to the Kinetic Academy, who came to talk to our lads about injury prevention and nutrition; two hugely important areas in preparation for playing football to the highest standard.Robert was introduced to Kinetic by our US partner, Charles Pardue. Robert is a highly specialised MSK Physiotherapist and MSK Sonographer and since arriving in the UK from the Netherlands in 1994 he has set up sports injury clinics within premier health clubs in Central London and co-founded Waterside Physiotherapy in Canary Wharf in 2004. He is extremely well respected within the sporting community and certainly gave our lads lots to think about when it came to getting, and keeping, themselves in ultimate shape for playing the game. The presentation looked at all types of sports injuries and how to prevent them including missed Achilles rupture where the lads were able to see sonogram images of the affected area in different stages post trauma. In addition, Robert brought his ultrasound machine with him and was able to assess 6 lads during his time with us, which gave them all an added insight into the care and attention elite sports men and women require to keep them in peak physical fitness. We would like to say a huge thank you to Robert from all of us here at Kinetic in taking the time to come and give us an insightful and educational presentation and demonstration of how to prevent injury and the best nutrition advice for developing footballers.
