Fantastic Father's Day Football Fest Success
The Kinetic Foundation ran their biggest youth tournament to date on Sunday after hosting their 5th annual Football Festival, raising £4,500 for education projects in South London in the process.The event was a great success seeing 43 teams across 3 tournaments compete on a Father's Day in the sun at Dulwich College.The event was split into three different aged tournaments: Reception/ Year 1, Year 2/3 and Year 4/5 all organised, officiated and ran by Kinetic Academy players and volunteers.James Fotheringham, tournament organiser, said: "The attendance this year is testament to the hard work we are doing in the communities and it is clear that the families and teams are here not only to compete in a fantasticly ran tournament for their children, but to support the positive impact we have on young people's lives."Our young people were fantastic, they work so hard during the year and it is days like this where they get to show off their skills. I am extremely proud."The tournament continues to grow and I am thrilled to see so many people leave with a smile on their faces."The Reception/Year 1 competition had some thrilling encounters with the competition being won by the Blue Tigers,who progressed through the tournament unbeaten to take home the trophy.The Year 2/3 competition was extremely close but The Hawks won on penalties after extra-time in the final.The Year 4/5 competition culminated in a fantastic game with Allands triumphing after an outstanding team performance.Kinetic would like to thank Dulwich College for the use of their venue, the volunteers for giving their time and all the parents and children that made the day an astounding success.Plans are already in place for Football Fest 2017, and we are sure it will be the best one yet!
