Uni of Bath impact report on Kinetic Academy (Part 1)
We are proud to announce some outcomes of a report into the impact and effectiveness of the Kinetic Academy programme on student outcomes and exit routes. The study was carried out at one of our partner schools, Harris City Academy Crystal Palace (HCACP), by 3 University of Bath Master's students - James Walker, Ben Abrahams and Keita Koizumi.
⦁ The HCACP headteacher noted two key strengths of the Kinetic Academy programme:- retaining more students who may not have stayed on at a school sixth form- the ability of Kinetic to balance football training with academics
⦁ All students and school staff reported that the level of coaching offered was a key strength of the programme⦁ Staff discussed the high-quality coaching offered but also the coaches’ ability to provide care and teach life skills to the boys⦁ The HCACP headteacher also said Kinetic has boosted HCACP’s profile within school sports⦁ The HCACP Head of PE - "The PE department has improved significantly due to the PE teachers being able to study the training sessions led by Kinetic"It was great to read the report to help us identify how our programme has impacted on students education and lives as well as understanding the impact of the Kinetic Academy programme on the school’s profile with a particular focus on staff, student and teacher satisfaction.
