Boys Football Coaching Intern

The foundation is looking for a Football Coaching Intern to assist the current team and help coach the next generation of talented male footballers throughout London.

This is a highly regarded position in the organisation with a key role in helping assist in the large coaching programme. You will work in a small, highly experienced coaching team; therefore, the selected candidate must demonstrate initiative and integrity. 

 

This role will allow the successful candidate access to outstanding coach education, in depth knowledge of session planning and a foot-up on to the football coaching ladder.

 

The key responsibilities associated with the job description are as follows:

 

Coaching

 

  • Follow syllabus and scheme of work as set by the Head of Coaching.  

  • Support the delivery of practical football coaching and strength and conditioning sessions.

  • Ensure the highest level of delivery possible for young people.   

  • Assist in the input to individual learning plans (ILPs) on each young person.

  • Support a School Liaison Officer (SLO), specific to one of our partner Harris Federation schools.

  • Assist teams on game day in line with Kinetic philosophy and values.   

  • Assist game environments for the young people within the Kinetic Academy game model and structure. 

  • Identify, co-ordinate and develop volunteering opportunities for young people in the local community.

Kinetic is an innovative charity that uses a unique community sport model to support and deliver highly quality football and volunteering opportunities to some of the most vulnerable, ignored and overlooked young people in the UK aged 14-19 years old. 

 

We provide all Kinetic Academy scholars with UEFA qualified football coaching to develop their talent, a place in one of our partner schools, plus additional employability and life skills support. 

We are one of the most recognised football organisations in the country.

Requirements

To successfully carry out this role the individual must meet the following criteria of the job specification:

Job Specification:

  • Studying/completed a Sports/ Coaching Sciences Degree.

  • Ambition to be a football coach.

  • Ability to build rapport quickly.

  • Highly motivated and driven.

  • Very organised.

  • Good presentation skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Highly reliable and pro-active.

  • Skilled with Microsoft Office.

  • Confident working with partners at all levels of seniority.

  • Experience of working with and alongside others to complete a project with a specific outcome.

  • Knowledge of the sporting landscape in London.

  • Experience of working with young people.
